Recipe Overview

Tiramisu is the dessert par excellence of Italian cuisine, the most famous and known abroad. Its origins are disputed between the Veneto and Friuli-Venezia-Giulia regions. One of the unofficial versions of his birth narrates that Tiramisu was invented by a pastry chef from Turin in honor of Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour, to support him in his difficult undertaking to unify Italy.

Here is my recipe, it is very simple and fast to do. We only need eggs, mascarpone cheese, ladyfingers, white sugar, and coffee.

Step-by-Step Cooking Instructions for Tiramisù

Let’s get started with creating Tiramisù. Follow the instructions in order below to create this tasty fall dish.
Make the mascarpone cream:
1
Break the eggs and separate the yolks from the whites into two bowls.
2
In the first bowl, using an electric whisk, whip the yolks with half the sugar.
3
Whip the mixture until get a light and fluffy texture. (To understand the right consistency, dip a spoon inside and pull it up, if the back of the spoon remains veiled by the mixture, the consistency will be right).
4
Add the mascarpone cream into the mixture, a spoonful at a time.
5
Obtained a thick and compact cream, cover with cling film and store in the refrigerator.
6
Clean the electric whisk and start whipping the egg white with the remaining sugar, which will be added a little at a time to make the egg white swell more.
7
Now that both compounds are well assembled, unify them taking care to keep their consistency.
8
With a spatula, pour the egg whites into the bowl of the yolks, a little at a time, mixing very gently from the bottom up.
Compose the Tiramisu:
1
Once the mascarpone cream is ready, spread a generous spoonful on the bottom of a baking dish.
2
Soak the ladyfingers in the coffee just for a second and put them in the baking dish, forming the first layer.
3
Now cover the ladyfingers with a layer of mascarpone cream and carefully level so as to have a smooth and even surface.
4
Proceed with the second layer of ladyfingers and mascarpone cream.
5
If there are any spaces left, you can also cover them with ladyfingers broken in half.
6
Finish the composition with a sprinkle of cocoa powder on top.
7
Leave it in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving it.
9
After a short time the tiramisu will be ready to be tasted!!
Buon Appetito!
